Tattoo Lifters International

Laser light has become the most popular non invasive method of tattoo removal. The Lumenis Q-Switched: NG YAG laser has just been introduced in the UK, by Tattoo Lifters International because of its high performance especially with dark colours.

Based in Central London and specialising in tattoo removal only, the company as well as offering the latest treatment by laser will shortly also offer the updated Veriot method used to deal with the small number of resistant coloured inks. By combining both methods we can treat multi colour work where normally the use of laser would leave patches of colour untreated.

The Clinic is approved by the Healthcare Commission and all relevant staff are medically qualified.

It may surprise you to know that medical opinion is still mystified as to how tattooing works. The body is usually very successful at expelling foreign matter which theoretically should including ink particles.

But it seems that by implanting the ink just below the dermal junction the body is fooled in some way into healing with the ink particles still in place.

What does happen is that over time, fat cells attach themselves to the ink particles and move the ink around. This causes the tattoo to look less sharp and increasingly distorted.

So this is the problem tattoo removing has to address.

The NHS decided in1958 that tattoo removal should not be offered by hospitals as part of the service.

The search for a safe method that did not require a skin graft or leave scaring came when, as a by product of using lasers for other types of surgery it was found that the laser light could be used to fragment ink particles.

Now research has shown that by using Q-switched Nd: YAG laser light this has made the procedure much more benign.

At the end of a course of laser treatment, some colours will have been resistant to the laser light and a different method is used to finish off the procedure, if these colours are present. When you have your pre-treatment consultation we will identify which colours will have to be treated by the Veriod system when we introduce it later this year.
